About our Network

We offer our clients connections to the cleanest and most precisely engineered network in the world. We have Tier One connectivity with several diverse connections to the Internet National Access Points (NAPs) including the Chicago AADS NAP, MAE East, MAE West, and PAC Bell NAP.

Our backbone runs coast to coast and connects to the major public exchange points. Currently, our network incorporates Gigabit rings and multiple fiber connections up to OC-192 capacity to various Internet backbones (UUNet, Level 3, WilTel).

Fiber connectivity to two other adjacent facilities (Focal Telecom, Clear Blue) with access to AT&T, Telseon, OnFiber and more. This technology offers our network resilience during times of network failures.

In cooperation with numerous long haul carriers, we maintain a Frame Relay network that covers the United States and over fifty foreign countries.

About our Network Security

The greatest benefit of the Internet is that it is an open network. The most challenging aspect of the Internet is that it is an open network. As such, the network is accessible by virtually anyone at any time from any point on the globe. This provides the worlds largest forum for the uninhibited exchange of information. However, it also presents a challenge for those organizations that require network security. Since public web servers are a very high-profile target for illicit cracking activity, and because we value the privacy and potentially confidential data stored on our servers, we take security very seriously. Just as new viruses are developed daily, so are new techniques used to break into computer systems. For this reason, there is no way to guarantee that any security measures are foolproof. We do, however, take every reasonable precaution to ensure that our servers remain secure. Our president, Joe Mitchell, has 14 years of experience working in the field of computer security and has developed an impressive arsenal of security precautions which help secure our servers. A few examples of our safeguards and procedures are listed below:

  • Third party network monitoring is employed to page our staff in case of system disruption.
  • Intrusion Detection systems are monitored to track illicit activity and notify staff of possible intrusions.
  • Our firewall system prevents many known types of system attacks.
  • Guardian software automatically halts attacks in progress and blocks system access from abusive locations.
  • Carefully crafted mail server configurations helps prevent our servers from being used to propagate Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE or "SPAM").

  • Virus scanning software is used to help prevent known viruses from reaching our customers.

Ultratron can provide a total security solution for monetary and information sensitive data transfers over the Internet infrastructure using technologies such as Secured Socket Layer (SSL), PGP Encryption, and Secure Shell (SSH).

Our engineers are specially trained to keep our webserver machines secure by monitoring security mailing lists and newsgroups, applying security patches to the operating systems and applications in a timely manner, and by utilizing intrusion detection software to detect and prevent unauthorized access to our servers.

Refund Policy

During the first 30 days the client is entitled to a money back guarantee that applies in the event the client is dissatisfied with the service for any reason (excluding InterNIC or other external fees which we do not control). This applies to web hosting fees, and does not apply to web promotion, web design, custom programming work, and set up fees hosting, such as for shopping carts, CyberCash, Chat Rooms, Forums, etc. Nor does this apply to cancellation for reasons other than dissatisfaction with Ultratron's service (e.g. Client decided to discontinue web site for personal or business reasons).

Modification of customer information.
Customers may modify their personal information by sending email to support@ultratron.net requesting to make the change.

Domain name customers, who have registered a domain name with Ultratron Internet Services, are provided full access to their domain account through a personal username and password used on our website. It is important to note that customer domain name registration information is made publicly available in the registry of domain names. In the event you lose your domain management password, you can send email to support@ultratron.net and we will re-send the password to the email address on the domain registration record. It is important that the email address on record for your domain registration be kept current since this it is more difficult to retrieve a forgotten password if the email address is not valid.

Will Ultratron Internet Services ever send me direct mailings?
From time to time, Ultratron Internet Services may send its customers information about various products and services that may be of interest. We will not send you information of this type without specifically allowing you to "opt out" of such mailings. You can opt out by sending an e-mail to support@ultratron.net, however by doing so, you may miss important communication regarding your service. In addition, if you are a Ultratron Internet Services reseller, Ultratron Internet Services and/or its partners and advertisers may from time to time send you newsletters, promotional material, and other mailings. You can opt out by sending an e-mail to support@ultratron.net.

How do I protect my Personal Information in public forums?
Ultratron Internet Services may offer interactive forums, such as message boards and chat. Ultratron Internet Services users should be aware that when they voluntarily disclose Personal Information to other users or to third parties on the Ultratron Internet Services system, through e-mail, or outside of the Ultratron Internet Services system, that information can be collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages from other members or third parties. While Ultratron Internet Services strives to protect your Personal Information, Ultratron Internet Services cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to Ultratron Internet Services, and you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any passwords or other account information.

  • It is necessary in order to provide service to the customer
  • It is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of Ultratron Internet Services and its customers
  • It is required to cooperate with interception orders, warrants, or other legal process that Ultratron Internet Services determines in its sole discretion to be valid and enforceable
  • It is necessary to provide to a law enforcement agency when the contents are inadvertently obtained by Ultratron Internet Services and appear to pertain to the commission of a crime
  • Ultratron Internet Services disclaims any intention to censor, edit or engage in ongoing review or surveillance of communications stored on or transmitted through its facilities by customers or others

Ultratron Internet Services will, however, review, delete or block access to communications that may harm Ultratron Internet Services, its customers or third parties. The grounds on which Ultratron Internet Services may take such action include, but are not limited to, actual or potential violations of Ultratron Internet Services policies.
